At this time there is no heat at Caldwell High School. Because of this there will be no in-person classes at the high school tomorrow (12/1/2020). Please follow your remote learning schedule. This is for the high school only as of right now. Thank you!

Just to clarify the post about the district buildings being shut down, our students are remote learning due to the lack of staffing. Sports teams, unless quarantined, are still able to practice and play. We plan on returning to a normal school schedule on December 1st.

CHS Families:
Due to the rise in COVID cases, our school is closed starting tomorrow, Nov 16 and will reopen on Tues., Dec. 1. Students will have access to the building on Nov. 16 from 8am to 3pm. No more than 10 students at a time are allowed in the building. Students are not to linger or congregate.
If you are unable to come tomorrow during the day, your textbooks and chromebooks will be available at the elementary school for pick up between 3pm and 5pm tomorrow.
Online instruction will start on Nov. 17, Tues. You will have your even period classes on Tues.

Following the Governor’s announcement yesterday regarding dances and social gatherings, Caldwell HS has made the decision to cancel the Homecoming dance previously scheduled for next month. CHS will have still sponsor the HOCO court with a king and queen crowned at the high school basketball game on December 18th.

Athletes and coaches who will be using either the CHS Gym or Weight Room please adhere to the following guidelines that must be followed while using these facilities. Cameras have been installed in both the weight room and the gym.
Weight Room
- Max Capacity of 7 individuals at a time including a coach
- Immediate hand washing/ sanitation upon entry (Stations will be set up for this; encourage re-washing/ sanitizing while athletes are present
- Athletes are to follow 6 feet distancing guidelines. No lingering/ touching/ horseplay with others
- Back doors and front door propped open to allow ventilation throughout area
- Coaches are to wear face coverings while in the building and around athletes
- Athletes and/or coaches are to spray/ wipe down equipment before and after each use of equipment. Disinfecting spray/ wipes/ and towels will be provided and updated regularly. The coach should be observing for this the entire workout and reinforcing cleaning after each use
- Ice machine and its equipment are off limits to athletes. Only a coach should be accessing it if needed
- Athletes personal items are to be left outside of the weightroom. They need to leave clothes, bags, personal items outside of the area.
Gymnasium

Even though the coronavirus is complicating our education process, Caldwell Schools is still moving
ahead in our planning for the 2020/2021 school year.
Caldwell Exempted Village School District will be accepting Open-Enrollment applications for the 2020-2021 school year. Parents, if you live outside of our district boundaries AND would like your child/children to attend Caldwell Schools in 2020/2021, you need to complete an application for each child.

CEVSD over 100 orders for our breakfast/lunch pickup, tomorrow, at Caldwell Elementary School! Just a reminder to call 740-732-5637 to place your order. You can pick up your orders between 11-1. Thank you to the staff who have already helped out with our grab and go orders!

CEVSD will continue to provide breakfast and lunch during our time off. Tomorrow will be grab and go meals at the elementary school. Starting Wednesday we will be providing a week’s worth of breakfasts and lunches. You may pick these items up between 11:00 and 1:00 at the elementary school. In order for us to prepare enough food, we would like you to call the district office at 740-732-5637, between 8-10 a.m., to pre-order your food. This will continue on a weekly basis for the foreseeable future. Wednesdays will be our weekly pick up day. Please call the district office if you have any questions.

Update- In order to keep the grab & go program as convenient as possible for our families, CEVSD is going to change the breakfast/lunch time to 8-10am on Monday, March 16. Parents/students of CEVSD can pick up their food in front of Caldwell Elementary. There will be an all call Monday afternoon detailing future menus and pickup procedures.

Caldwell Schools will be closed starting Monday, March 16th and will be closed for 3 weeks, by the governor's orders. All activities will also be canceled during this time. We will re-evaluate the situation at the conclusion of the break. Please stay safe during this break.

CES 7th Grader, Jonas Copley, was rewarded with 5 tickets to watch the Cleveland Browns play the Buffalo Bills on November 10th! Jonas has proven to be a true leader in the Junior High, teaching students how to play soccer during recess & taking the initiative to raise funds to purchase soccer equipment for everyone to enjoy.

CEVSD is pleased to announce the development of Crisis Prevention Intervention Teams at both CES & CHS. CPI focuses on deescalation and non-violent behavior interventions. Natalie Ford, Clint Crane, Stephanie Dolweck, and Beth Jarvis all earned their CPI trainer certification last week. The Caldwell Exempted Village School District is proud to have an AmeriCorps Ohio College Guide, through Scholarship Central in Muskingum County, to periodically be on campus helping students with scholarships, college access, and on nights such as our FAFSA Completion Night. Congrats to CHS Sophomore Elle Schafer on being selected by the faculty as a model REDskin. The character of a Redskin starts with RED and builds everyday in our new Access Period.

We hope you can join us in celebration at this fun-filled event, which will take place on August 3rd at the Cleveland Browns annual Orange & Brown scrimmage at First Energy Stadium. We ask that all educators, students and families arrive at the First Energy Stadium by 1:00pm to give us enough time to check in all guests no later than 1:30pm. The Caldwell Exempted Village School District will be limited to 30 tickets and the district will decide who will receive the scrimmage tickets.

Freshmen Orientation!!!
Orientation night will be held on Aug. 13 @ 5pm with dinner followed by a general welcome, activity fair, and student tours. The evening will wrap up at 8pm in the auditorium.

CHS Cheerleaders are selling stadium seats. Cost is $40 per stadium seat. They are made of heavy canvas and the seat is padded. They have a hook on the bottom that will connect to the bleachers and a bar for carrying. Please contact Debbie Schockling or any CHS cheerleader. All orders must be received by 6/19.

We are working on putting together an edited copy of the graduation video and posting it for everyone. We are looking for anyone who may have recorded this year's graduation ceremony. Please email tabrams@caldwell.k12.oh.us if you have a copy that you are willing to share.

This is a reminder for parents to return youth basketball camp forms as soon as possible. The camp is for boys and girls grades Pre-K through 6th. It will take place in the high school gym on Monday and Tuesday, June 3rd and 4th from 8:00 am until 11:30 am.

On Thursday, CEVSD held its very 1st Special Olympics. Students competed in both running & throwing events. It was a wonderful experience for everyone involved. We would like to thank the American Legion, Donna Spicer & the Noble County Fairboard, and Janae Norman for organizing this event. #redskinpride

Caldwell Jr. High & HS choirs will perform tomorrow night in the CHS Auditorium at 7:00 p.m.
In addition, CHS art students will have their artwork on display in the CHS concourse. The Art Exhibition will take place from 5:30-6:45 p.m. and from 8:15-9:00 p.m.
The Ag Science program will be hosting a hog roast in the cafeteria.

C.H.S. CHOIRS BOTH RECEIVE I's at STATE!!!
The Women's and Mixed Choirs traveled to Newark H.S. Friday evening and both Choirs received State Superiors. Much hard work goes into such an accomplishment. Please come out and support the Choirs at the Spring Concert on Thursday, May 16, at 7 P.M. in the auditorium.

The 40 students of our Jr. High Choir received a Superior rating at their Large Group Contest on March 22. Two weeks later, they took highest honors at Solo & Ensemble Competition by receiving 8 Superior ratings! Events were Soloists Emma Lowe & Rachel Turner, a Boys' Ensemble, two Girls' Ensembles, two Mixed Ensembles, and a Chamber Ensemble. Great job, Choir!
